E-Commerce Planning Manager (Midwest)

Overall responsibility

 

Develop unique business opportunities in e-commerce across key areas: merchandise planning and analysis, customer database optimization, and emerging direct-to-consumer initiatives.  These inter-related responsibilities are critical for seasonal planning, inventory management and online performance management.

 

Specific responsibilities

 

Merchandise Planning Analysis

         Provide in-season reporting, projections, and analysis with actionable recommendations.

         Maximize unique e-commerce sales and inventory opportunities. The e-commerce selling model contains uniqueness with growth curve, seasonality, turn, and the effect of marketing elements. 

         Partner with Allocation to maximize sales to stock ratios, optimize direct and replenishment categories, and monitor aged inventory programs.

         Develop growth plans for breakout merchandise categories as it relates to year-round basics, fashion and online categories.

         Track and pursue e-commerce margin opportunities in price cadence and promotional strategies.

         Provide research and analysis from merchandise selling, price sensitivity, and consumer response to merchandise product.

         Develop e-commerce merchandise plans by department and product level structure.

         Provide sales, margin and cost justification analysis for emerging ecommerce initiatives

 

Customer Acquisition and Customer Database Analysis

         Work with Marketing team to maximize database segmentation to increase sales on-line and in-store. 

         Partner on CRM projects to enhance loyalty and retention efforts online.

         Develop acquisition elements in emerging interactive media and email acquisition campaigns off-line.

         Provide cost justification of acquisition and retention programs in terms of customer lifetime value.

         Partner with E-commerce Marketing, and E-commerce Merchandising to design customer-driven programs

 

Plan and Develop Direct-to-Consumer Initiatives

         Provide sales, margin and ROI analysis for proposed direct-to-consumer initiatives, enabling e-commerce orders in-store, and establishing an online destination for merchandise positions.

         Initiate, develop, and implement online category businesses to drive sales and acquire new customers.

         Implement Internet programs internally with functional partners and process approvals as required.

 

Skills and Experience

 

         5-8 years combined experience in retailing and e-commerce

         Creative problem solver with advanced analytic skills, especially in Microstrategy and Excel.

         Successful track record in scope management, customer-driven programs and solution delivery.

         A degree emphasizing business management
