Leading Specialty Retailer with over 200+ stores is seeking a Merchandise Planner to joing their team.
Description: In this position you will partner with Buyer/Merchandise Manager to develop, implement and manage initial purchase plans, evaluate inventory levels by Store Rank, provide historical performance analysis, and provide leadership and guidance to your allocation partner.
Responsibilities Include:
- Offer recommendations regarding sales performance, flow, promotional and markdown cadence, turn and gross profit, and BOM targets
- Manage the in-season forecast process including performance analysis
- Identify opportunities and liabilities and recommend appropriate action
- Convert Class and Subclass Dollar Plans into Unit Plans Develop monthly unit sales plans for all product categorys and different Store Ranks
- Establish "Average Store" unit quantity for each BOM in each class and subclass Ensure unit receipts are allocated to need (open to ship)
- Perform in-season monthly review of store selling versus plan and LY
- Establish "Hot" and "Cold" store lists for allocators to address
- Establish turn goals and inventory caps for Retail Chain
- Manage KPI at the chain level for the OTB and suggest edits based upon performance
- Forecast closeout and excess needs in total and by style based on current projections
- Maintain effective communication with internal business partners - buyers, allocators, wholesale, distribution centers and stores
- Create and deliver weekly adhoc analysis as needed by the retail leadership team
