Product Manager, Sweaters & Outerwear

Leading Specialty Retailer with annual sales exceeding $1 billion, supporting over 700 stores.

Basic Responsibilities:

Interprets, develops and manages the Product Development process to produce product that meets the Brand Image

-Works in conjunction with Merchandising and Product Development Teams to assure assortment is in line with the Brand Image

 

Brand Concept-

-Interprets direction on trend, color, fabric, trim and concept for each season for the tops area of the division

Identifies key trends, outfits and items for the Wear To Work division for Tops.

Presents complete concept to Merchandising, Marketing, Production and Product Development, along with Director Trend.

 

Fashion Trends-

-Travels in United States and internationally to gather fashion information and be the interpreter of

fashion to the brand and the company.

-Anticipates trends and identifies samples that can be adapted to Lane Bryant's Brand Image to

support the reputation of "first in market".

-Insures cohesiveness of color flow throughout season with well planned additions and selections of fashion colors.

 

Assortment Plan-Development

-Reviews existing lines with Merchandising and updates current brand

-Identifies new product opportunities

-In conjunction with technical services, creates and adapts fashionable fit that flatters our customers' bodies

 

Fabric/Yarns-

-Helps to identify all key fabrics

-Consults on color, fabric, construction, fit and value with Merchandising and Production to meet Brand image.

 

Leadership-

Monitors, directs and assures delivery to Product Development's time line with the Development Process

Creates and maintains partnerships with Leadership members that assure a team environment and the

achievement of business objectives

-GMMs

-DMMs

-Product Development Team

-Buyer

-Technical Design Team

 

Experience:

-5-10 years of experience in product development/design/merchandising positions of increasing responsibility, including supervisory positions, in women's sportswear companies recognized as retail industry leaders.

-A successful track record demonstrating an understanding for and knowledge of the fashion industry and the target customer.

-Understands Brand has worked with brand recognized industry leaders.
