Position Overview
The Sourcing Manager is responsible for the evaluation and management of suppliers that meet requirements in the areas of cost, quality, fill rate, on time delivery and are aligned to the strategic sourcing plan. The SM also works closely with the design and merchant teams in the line and product development processes to provide technical assistance and accurate costing. The SM is responsible for planning, managing and tracking the development and production processes from concept to execution to ensure adherence to the Time & Action calendar. The SM reports to the Director of Sourcing
Key Responsibilities
Lead communication with Design, Merchandising, Planning, Technical Design, Quality and overseas buying offices regarding the product development process.
Manage the development and production processes and ensure the accuracy of tracking reports.
Develop product according to design requirements and communicate issues when the product development concept or merchandising strategy contains unrealistic expectations of sourcing.
Direct overseas buying offices with supplier agreements including first cost, quality and service level agreements.
Manage fabric commitments and capacity reservations based on established projections.
Provide technical manufacturing expertise and identify potential manufacturing issues prior to style adoption.
Communicate daily with overseas buying offices concerning information regarding development and production issues.

Experience:
3-5 years of experience in sourcing/product development positions of increasing responsibility, in women's sportswear companies recognized as retail industry leaders.
-Technical knowledge of fabric, garment construction and production cycles.
-Understands Brand has worked with brand recognized industry leaders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook and web based applications.
- International travel required.
